Some Changes

Hi Friends, I am in the process of changing some things around at this site, exciting for me and hopefully for you too. I’ll be letting you know, as they happen what precisely is happening, but what I will say for now, is that I’m taking my hosting off blogger.

In the mean time this old site can always be accessed at evangelismtheology.blogspot.com . Any requests or questions email to gareth@evangelismtheology.com

Yours very sincerely and in Christ

A Poem

This is written by a friend of mine and I like it, so I submit it for your enjoyment

The Lighthouse of My Life

When the ocean becomes

a tumult of frothy despair.

When I'm doused in the icy spray

of hurt and

uncertainty.

When I'm drifting

alone,

sunken and battered.

Cast away callously,

like tired fish nets.

Thrown about roughly,

then shipwrecked on the jagged rocks.

I cling fast

to Him.

and

            He

                        p u l l s

                                         me

                                                   through

When all seems lost

He instils a new unfailing hope,

He keeps me striving.

When all seems lost

He encourages and gives me strength,

He reminds me of my purpose and potential.

When all seems lost

on the long, caliginous voyage life presents,

He is what I live for.

He is my anchor,

My house of light

God.

One of my mates suggested a number of topics for me to write about, which is great. Let me encourage you to do the same, reader suggestions are great.  I plan to tackle the topics, about 1 a week.  The topics are these:

  1. Immortality of the flesh
  2. Healings, and miracles
  3. Universalism
  4. Demons
  5. Sinless Perfection
  6. Being "drunk in the spirit"

Rick Holland

I had a great privilege of meeting one of the featured speakers from the conference this weekend.

In the picture below you see from left to right Clint Archer (from the Cripplegate, and incidentally my pastor), myself and Rick Holland, who preached up a storm.

Rez 2011

shapeimage_2

Last year I had the great privilege to attend the first Rezolution conference in Jo’burg, and more to the point, I got to sit under the preaching of John Piper and Conrad Mbewe, two very great men of God, who the Lord has used mightily over the years. Now another year has passed and its time for another conference, this weekend. The speakers this are Rick Holland and Paul Trip. Rick Holland I’ve heard before (although never ‘live’) and I know Paul Trip by reputation, It looks like it will be a great great great conference.

Pray for us as we road trip up. Pray that Christ will be magnified in us, as he will be in the preaching.

If you’re in Jo’burg this weekend, I believe there is still space. Here is their website.

I’ll also try and run a few updates as the conference progresses/

God bless
